The AIS is Australia’s strategic high performance sports agency, responsible for leading a system that supports Australian athletes to perform on the international stage. The Stakeholder Engagement & Communications team provides support to enable the AIS to deliver the its strategy and operational messaging  to the High Performance System and the public – a targeted, world-class programs that provide unique, impactful and competitive advantage services to the Australian high performance system.Responsibilities will include:-Assist in developing and driving the communications and stakeholder engagement strategy and program of work, with a focus on proactive and response-driven media relationsAccountability for building, maintaining and growing the profile and public perception of the AIS through media channels;Developing and maintain a constant and active AIS presence in the media as the lead national voice on relevant issues;Media liaison, including responding to media requests and proactively identifying media opportunities;Development and delivery of content including media releases and corporate documentation;Develop and maintain partnerships with National Sporting Organisations and other internal and external stakeholders to support the profile and public reputation of the AIS.To be successful, you will have :Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to write content for various audiences and platforms, including digital.Degree or higher qualification/s and demonstrated mid to senior level experience in media relations, PR communications, and/or journalism.Greater than five years relevant experience that includes significant experience in the media and communications sector.A network in, and deep knowledge of the Australian media, across all platformsDemonstrated capacity to provide timely, compelling and concise advice to inform executive members and senior management to support decision making.A strong understanding, and ideally experience within, the Australia sport sectorThis is a fixed term position available until 16 December 2022Salary = $106,121 - $125,222 per annum + up to 15.4% superannuation.Employment benefits include access to priority onsite Childcare placements, free parking facilities and use of on-site gymnasium.Applications close 5.00pm AEST Wednesday 29 May 2019 (sorry no late applications will be accepted).Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia.Job Description Australia - ACT ACT
