Through the development of the new Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement (AW&E) team, the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) has clearly demonstrated that they consider athlete wellbeing as a core component of high performance sport. The role of this new team is to lead and support elite sport within Australia to understand that a successful high performance culture includes athletes finding the right balance between wellbeing, engagement in activities outside of training and competition and the requirements of elite sport.We have an exciting opportunity to manage one of the five key streams of the new AIS AW&E team- Career and Education. As the Career and Education Consultant, you will be responsible for developing the national career and education support strategy, managing the national career and education network and providing leadership to the national high performance sport network to build capability across the sector.We are looking for a dynamic, engaging candidate with qualifications in Master of Education (Career Development specialization) or Master of Educational Studies (Career Development). Our ideal candidate will also have:Proven experience developing a national strategy that builds capacity from existing University and private practitioner networks;7 or more years demonstrated experience in developing national career and education programs; andDemonstrated record of providing leadership and management to achieve high personal and team performance and meet organisational and business objectives.This position will be offered as a fixed term contract to 18 December 2020.
