Sport Australia plays a central leadership role in the development and operations of the Australian sport sector and acts as the leading sports agency in Australia, building collaboration, alignment and effectiveness across the sector.The Sport Business Division is accountable for enabling more Australians to move more often delivering health, education and community impact. Building sport capability to create a robust, connected industry; driving a sector approach to growing participation; and investing in and monitoring the delivery of outcomes that make a significant impact on all Australians.As a senior member of the Participation and Physical Activity branch you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Sport Australia’s Participation and Physical Activity Life stages approach. Key to this work will be your understanding of Sport Australia’s priorities, your analytical skills and your ability use research to influence strategy and investment.You will be a collaborative person with strong communication skills and an eye for detail. Along with previous experience in developing and interpreting market insights, you will be ready to step in and lead key projects, and also willing to pitch in to achieve a range of priorities across the section as required.To be successful in this role, you will have:Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in sport, business, research, strategy development, policy, planning or a related field.Thorough understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks, particularly related to government and or health promotion.Demonstrated experience as an effective functional team leader and in providing support to employees to achieving their goalDemonstrated experience providing guidance to and negotiating with senior external stakeholdersStrong communication skills and a commitment to working collaboratively to deliver collective impactKnowledge of the Sport and Physical activity sector preferred but not essential.Position can be based in either Canberra or MelbourneSalary range = $106,121 - $125,222 per annum plus superannuation.Employment benefits include access to priority onsite Childcare placements , free parking facilities and use of on-site gymnasium (Canberra location only).Applications close 5.00pm AEDT 21 March 2019 (no late applications will be accepted).Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia.Job Description
