Building sport capability to create a robust, connected industry; driving a sector approach to growing participation; and investing in and monitoring the delivery of outcomes that make a significant impact to all Australians. In your role as Deputy General Manager Participation and Business Performance, you will be responsible for leading the customer life stages for participation in sport and physical activity. You will do this by developing and embedding a world class industry workforce plan and outcomes based investment model that enables more Australians to move more often delivering health, education and community impact - leading a change to move it. As the Deputy General Manager Participation and Business Performance, you will:Provide strategic leadership, advice and direction to the Branch, in the development, implementation and delivery of integrated business solutions and initiatives that meet the evolving business needs of the ASCLead participation and pathway design identifying customer life stages and building industry intelligence on drivers for participation and importantly coordinate transitions,Gather life stage data, information, knowledge and insight to build transformational plans to significantly grow each life stage and the broader sector,Design life stage plans with target markets that identify key partners to maximise investment,Advance the Governance Principles and utilise investment as a lever for unified behaviours focusing on step changing governance of sport,Reinvigorate how we approach the sport industry workforce developing a national framework with systems and efficient process across coaching, officiating and development both professional and voluntary,Contribute to the enterprise approach to financial advisory that maximises and optimises the return on investment. To be successful in the role, you will need: Degree (preferably MBA) qualification/s and demonstrated senior level experience in Business, Sport or a related field.Proven experience in translating research into insight, strategy and successful execution to significantly grow participation in a sport, preferably the sector.Deep understanding of taking a customer driven approach that unlocks new, scalable and sustainable ways to grow the sector.Extensive experience in the field of sports management is desirable, with specific experience in a field/s pertinent to the work of capability building, participation growth and/or financial management.High level business and political acumen, with demonstrated ability to utilise economic, financial and industry data to identify key issues and develop strategies and plans.A strong grasp of key trends and issues facing the sector and ability to anticipate future challenges to create long range competitive strategies and plans.Demonstrated senior level management experience, with a strong track record of achieving success in managing a team to deliver strategic objectives, in a diverse environment.Demonstrated capacity to provide timely, compelling and concise advice to inform executive members and senior management to support decision making.Demonstrated high level experience in managing financial resources, risk management, business planning and strategy development.Experience delivering cultural change through influence and using innovative techniques. Position is based in Canberra and is a full time permanent post.
